Peter Flanagan is a fine art painter who has work on display all over the north east England region and beyond. Also, he has painting within the Royal Household and with Tony Blair.
The Cultural Thing interviewed Peter about his work, but, since he once taught Fine Art at Newcastle College, we started off by asking him if anyone can learn to paint.

The Lumsdale Theatre Arts School has been going for thirty years. The Cultural Thing spoke with Caren, the school's founder - and the rest of her staff - about the school. The amazing success it has had with its past students, why boy dancers are more exciting than girl dancers, and the up and coming Dance Showcase at The Royal Albert Hall in London next year.

Jackie Lyness is a painter of two extremes. Her work comprises of detailed pen and ink studies created with great detail. However, she is also happy to splash paint around and makre more abstract artworks.
